2005 E280 Bluetooth

Post by Tlange280 »

Hi all, Happy Sunday... Recently bought a 2005 E280 with the command system (non-GPS) and Bluetooth Adapter in the centre console. Unfortunately missing the Bluetooth adapter despite best efforts by previous owner to locate. Desperately seeking an adapter but unsure whether there are aftermarket options or if I need to stay OEM. Can anyone help please and provide some guidance particularly on the aftermarket options? Thanks in advance Tony

Straight up and honest, the only adapter that will 100% work all the time is the genuine MB part.

Look on stealbay etc online for one. All else being equal, you can order from your local dealer, expect it to be in the vicinity of $100-ish if you go that route.

There are various options that were available.
you need to look at the cradle.
There's the very old type with a cord attached. and the later type.

The original idea was to buy a Nokia phone which plugged into the cradle. Nokia phones which were already redundant when the cars actually arrived on the market.
There are Bluetooth alternates.
Viseo were the company that made them.
The model for the corded type cradle is getting very hard to find. I have one as pictured Viseo MB1000.

Mine works fine. The MB1000's are getting hard to find.
However with respect to what Joe has said. Any hands-free unit is better than none and getting caught by the police, copping a big fine and points.

The MB1000 sends all the contacts information across to Command. Unlike the iPhone in my W204 using Bluetooth

You can go to the Viseoo website for more info.

Hi Guys,

I have the Bluetooth adapter in a 2008 E280 I am considering purchasing under the armrest which works fine for phone calls etc. but my question is what do I need to do to get music streaming or podcasts to stream through the car audio from my android phone?

Is there something needed in addition to the MB bluetooth adapter, or is the only way through an FM transmitter from ebay etc?
What are my options?

Thanks in advance.

This is what I use in my 63. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-5mm-Wirel ... SwUvVcxlmf
I bought 3 of them thinking they wouldn’t last long at 6 bux each, however still using the first one without dramas. Plug 3.5 into glovebox output, plug adapter into other end leave on console and plug USB charger into other end from console 12v output.
I have turn it on maunually every time I get into car. And disconnect charger every time I get out but it’s habit now. If I leave the charger cable plugged in, when I turn car off, and headlights on auto, the dash tells me to turn lights off.
