Hi guys, I bought a nice low mileage 2000 E240 Elegance on the weekend as a second car but it has the left & right failing LCD screens. I’ve read it’s just the ribbon losing contact with the screen and can be fixed with something as simple as new foam and found videos to do this job. I’ve also heard it’s the ribbons themselves and theres various ribbon kits online. Is the ribbon kit easy to install yourself?
Can anyone give me advice on a fix for this? A local Brisbane instrument specialist has told me it’s $500 and the dash is away for 10 days.
Surely there must be an easier/cheaper option?
I’m based in Brisbane if anyone can reccomennd an alternative to Otto Instruments.
Cheers
Jason
