350 SL Steering Components

Post by iank » Fri 06 Jul, 2018 4:44 pm

Good'ay All,

Does anyone have some "smarts" on the steering on the 350SL? My Steering Coupler is "past it" in so much as (what looks like) the rubbers in the coupler frame have collapsed/disappeared. Can the rubbers be replaced? It looks as though there are "speed clips" holding the sections of the coupler together, which seems to indicate it can be serviced(?)

Also, whether I am looking for replacement rubbers, or a new Coupler, any suggestions as to where/whom to look to? I have not had need for any parts since our wonderful sponsor closed their Spares department! (I certainly am missing you already, John and Sandra.)

Regards,

Ian K

You can buy the bushings on Flea Bay if not available in your country and or NEW Couplers go for 40.00 - 195.00 U.S.

Hi Henry,

Many thanks for your information. I will check it out! Certainly a wide range of prices on "Flea Bay".

In due course I will post how I get on.

Regards, Ian
