W211 E320 CDI Vibration

Post by PunkJr »

Hello all

My 2008 has developed a slight vibration, felt through the wheel, at cruising speed. At low speed on a smooth road I can hear a rythmic knock, but I can only hear this occasionally. I first noticed this after hitting a large pothole at cruising speed. It hit hard. I took the car to my local mechanic and had the wheels balanced, however it has not helped. Does anyone have any clues as to what may be the cause of this?

Cheers
Ty

So anyone with similar symptoms, here is the end result:

I replaced both of my left hand side rims, which were bent from hitting the pothole, replaced tyres which had bad wear on the inside, had only done 15,000km, and the car is now driving as it should, with no vibration.

So your mechanic balanced your wheels, and did not pick up the LH ones were bent?
