Hi Guys,
Can someone advise the correct revs in fourth at 100kph please. My car is a 1984 230E auto. She's already doing around 2800rpm at 80 kph, which seems a tad high?
Cheers
Steve

:)
I'm not familiar with the 230E, but we'd need to know what gear you're in. Perhaps the transmission isn't changing gears at the right time/rpm/speed or something.
Hopefully one of the guys here more familiar with the 230E will know.

Re: W123 230E AUTO CORRECT REVS
All my W123s do about 3,100 at 100km/h except the 5 speed which is 2,500rpm.
So that sounds a tad high for 80km/h. I would have expected the around 2,500rpm. Not 3rd gear either as at 1.44:1 it would be doing 3,500 at 80kmns.

Re: W123 230E AUTO CORRECT REVS
standard diff ratio for the 230E is 3.58.
I sold my 230E in 2002, but I do recall the revs being high on the freeway.
If your wheels are not the correct size this can also affect revs on the freeway.

Hey Guys,
I was having a senior moment.......... she sits at around 3100 at 100kph, which from what I've read is normal. Sorry for wasting your time :-)
