Barn find

Post by Blackted »

Just got 3 Mercedes-Benz cars from a deceased estate, 1 X 1982 W123 300TD , 1 X 1971 115 240D & 1 X 1971 115 220/4.
I only wanted the W123, but had to take the rest in the deal..
I'm stuck now and don't know if i want to make one good W115 out of the two, the 240 body is ok but interior is thrashed.
The 220/4 has good interior but poor body.. don't know if engines run (they do turn over by hand)still waiting on keys from classic centre.
All 3 have been sitting for some time..300D injectors and pump are of for over haul due to rack stuck.... which i found out after starting and revved through the roof.
Any one want to make an offer on the W115"s, I will get some pictures up soon.

Hi Blackted, if you could get the 240D into shape that might be worth something to someone. That said, there are many very well loved examples on the road and you would have some stiff competition if/when you put it on the market. The 220/4 is not worth much because of the underpowered 4 cylinder. In my humble opinion, I think you will make the best return by parting out both cars. I have sold a lot parts surplus to my W114 and there's a great market. There's a guy in Turkey who will give you $350 just for a good set of seatcovers. And yes, accuse me of self-interest by all means, but I am looking for a set of rear doors and a boot lid. Please let me know if you do decide to break up one of the cars. Rgds, David
