Paint and interior

Post by Raijin »

Hi All

We the resto on the w114 250 is well under way stripping paint and cutting out rust. I have started to strip the car completely now and the cars has had a long hard life I am not sure what should or should not be in the car interior wise I can see there are holes in the rear parcel self for a 6x4 speaker. but I cant find any grills for them online does any one have a 6x4 in the rear?
And I am sure they are around somewhere on here but finding them is the issue if anyone could post some pics of what the interior should look like that would be awesome I can see plenty of dash pics on the net but that about it. I am not sure what the panels should be in the foot well as mine are missing or there is one there but its just a thin plastic.

The car is white but I was thinking of going a white pearl my old RAV 4 was a white pearl and I really liked that.

Hi Thomas, I was so impressed that you knew where to buy a rear speaker cover for a W114. Haven't seen them anywhere before. I searched the site in the desperate hope it also had the rare-as-hens-teeth covers for the front speaker, but to no avail. Do you have other magic tips about where to source these? Regards, David

Hi David,

I have two at the moment; but it will last a while until I have one spare. But they are on Ebay, e. g.
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz-W ... SwTkBZ0TEo
incl. loudspeaker: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Mercedes-Benz-8- ... Swlf5Z0l4T
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Lautsprechergit ... SwuLFZ3IPt

One of them ships to Australia, I'd keep looking ...
