Steering wheel downgrade

Hello ,

I am buying a 1974 W114 280

Like all post 1973 face lift cars it has the rubber wheel like the R107.

I know the steering column changed , but would really like to downgrade to the old style wheel with the chrome horn ring.

Is that doable without major surgery ?

Cheers

Zohar

Steering column change later, post W114.
If you want to fit the hard wheel with the chrome horn ring that was available in either black or ivory, no surgery required. It bolts straight on.
