Very impressive! Close to 600hp and a nice broad and flat torque curve and the power curve is very smooth and is still holding in there at 6500rpm. Nice work for a 5.6 M117.

Hey, Awesome that you got the dyno pull done!!! Now all you have to do is wind it up to full boost, looking at that supercharger i think it can do over .75 bar cant it?

I don't remember you mentioning it, but did you do an engine dyno run on the motor before you did the work at all, or was there one from the donor car?

581 horsepower is very impressive for 10 pounds. will the engine take 1 atmo without detonation?

which reminds me: almost bang-on 600ft-lbs of torque..... thats a LOT of twisties. Can you tell me how standard the driveline is? prop-shaft / auto trans / cv-joints & half-shafts?

Just curious about the condition of these and if any reconditioning of them has been done yet. If not, I'm wondering how long do you think they will last - (are you giving the throttle a big jab from a standstill? - I bet it's fun going sideways up the street through all 4 gears.... hehehe)

thanks alot and this is my first pull with this 560 engine and i didnt do any earlier pull before eather , well it was set down alot because the exhaust and headers didnt leave much room to flow more . i think more than this is not going to do any good so i tuned it with safe and not to stress it out to . the T-trim can do more than 0.75 it can boost up to 1.5 bar i think it can hold it there but lets think of 1.2 - 1.5. we did a dyno run without supercharger i didnt told you guys but we did as N/A and stock is 279hp / 440nm and 9.0 comp . however we saw 295.4hp and 468nm . then we added boost 0.75 bar and it did 98 percent powergain . we didnt noticed any pinging ore det at all we uset 8 knock sensors and recorded a specific knock frequenzy first that came in to Autronic ECU knock card module. And its a plug and play card you just mount in the ECU. so im not sure for real if it can handle 14 psi but i think it can in my mind .okay i can fill it up with pumpgas 99okt ,.and see

That's awesome.

i didn't know that you could get a knock-sensor card for the SM-4 (or that it was separate)

thanks for the information on that. Obviously this is why the car is running so well on the dyno.

yeh you can SM4 got a very impressive control of nock detecting and sensing it can retard ignition up to 16 cyl individual , its perfect if you got one cylinder that has a tendens to knock more than the others so ex is to record the frequenzy of just that cylinder like the highest spot on something , then sample it and then the ecu compare the frequency to the other  and then im not sure how does later on but wow man it does that really good .

i'm sorry if i've missed this elsewhere, but what supporting modifications have you done to the m117? i was thinking of supercharging my m116...

Have you done any tests on sustainability?
How long can you run it a full tilt?

any sort of special metals have you used in rings, pistons etc

Ryley:
I don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but please consider these issues:

1. blower - approx 4K
2. EMS - SM4 Autronic loom kit $2250 plus GST (I sell these)
3. fuel pump(s), rails, regulator injectors, MAP & TPS throttle body - budget about 2-2.5K for all new parts (Bosch motorsport)
4. manifold, intercooler (water to air) allow about 3K for a laminova IC and ??? for custom manifold
5. wideband lambda callibration & dyno time (2-3 days total)
6. an engine that has good even compression, no top end issues (rebuilt or as-new top end)

Lastly, if you want big boost numbers, pull the heads and heli-coil the block. this way you can torque the head bolts up an extra 10-15 Nm.

You could use a vortech t-trim or a paxton centrifugal blower, but they work higher in the rev range than a twinscrew compressor setup. the flipside is cost.

Robert's engine is bone stock, but he did pull the heads to make sure everything was OK first.

Paul, if you're going to contemplate this kind of work, you need to make sure the bottom has dead even compression, because @ high boost numbers and flogging it all day, stresses on an uneven compression engine are going to become bigger issues.
also, all the valve guides / stem seals need to be ship-shape. If you were to go racing with say 10-14psi, then you'd make sure the top end was completely overhauled, and you'd also do all the timing chain guides, and swap the front pulley over for a snake belt, electric thermofans etc.

Fantastic numbers on the dyno.

Thanks for the PM on benzworld supercharger
Looks like i'll be going for the SM4 unit, the website only listed SMC and SM2 so i didn't really know what to choose from but i had heard about the SM4, Autronic really make some good gear.

thanks joe,.. my shopping list is very much similar but a bit more DIY and hopefully less costs, using an M90 of a v6 commodore (ergh) and an older haltech or microtech pc. fuel rails, intakes and all fabrication can done for cost of materials (skilled friends) ive got a few TPSs and MAP sensors laying around, and my engine is relatively fresh. i will only run probably 10psi. just a bit of backyard fun... will still be exxy though!

where do you work? sounds fun! id love an autronic, they are very nice units

Great figures Supercharger... very farkn cool! 8) 8) 8)

I think i've asked before, but when are you comign to Australia do help us with all our conversions???

Joe, my phones shyte - can't find (or didn't save) your number.
Can you ping me a txt with your number at some point, need to have a discussion about EFI addition to an M100 and your thoughts.
I've been advised by someone who's done it before that the 450 D-Jet parts will bolt on and be fine, but if there's the option of going for new Bosch parts that will be ok and of course.. new, then i'd probably rather spend the coin onthat.

Cam.

PS. Supercharger, have you put EFI on an M100 6.9 engine before??
If so, did you have to re-fabricate a manifold?

Cam, sms sent :)

Some bosch or delfi injectors are almost a direct replacement fit - but you need to check.

centrifugal blower = no need to mod manifold

twinscrew autorotor = custom manifold with integrated w-a-IC. ( whats the timeframe?)

there's a guy in melbourne called hans, who sells opcon gear for minis, but he's freakin expensive, so I ordered direct and am now finding myself in a position to distribute them.

there's a lot of science to sizing, and for an m100, I don't think an opcon unit would give enough volume unless you drive it a bit harder. there is a lysholm unit which is a lower spec manufactured unit but nonetheless very well made (cast housing smaller bearings - cheaper design for OEM market) which could pump 10psi all day for you, but really you wouldn't want to go further than that. We're talking serious $$$ if you want big boost numbers - it's not that you can't do it, you just have to spend huge sums of money to get reliability.
