Same one I sent you a harmonic balancer for yesterday?? If so the balancer is just a bolt on part, but a pain to get to due to the east west engine configuration. Be careful of the locating key...

Hello John,

yes it is the car.

Thank you very much for ordering this harmonic balancer for me.
I also thank you for looking after me with the price. You are good man.

Now I am finding it hard to get the 17mm allen key that holds the the harmonic balancer to come off.

I am using a powerfull air gun and yet it is not comming off.
The air gun is that powerfull that it is turnning the engine. but the bolt is not turnning.

There is a hole through the fram work of the car to reach for the bolt which not too bad.

Do you know why the bolt is not comming off?
Best Regards,

You have to do a scary thing. Put the socket onto a breaker bar, jamm the breaker bar agaunst something very solid and hit the starter motor very briefly. Pull the lead of the spark plug coil pack first so it will not start.

Thanks John. I agree this is one of the old scary tricks.
However, it did not work simply becuase the 1.6 engine is not that powerfull.

I went to a truck service place near by and borrowed their air gun  a scary looking gun used for trucks.
This did at no sweat.

The bolt got undone but it could not fit through the hole in the frame work due to it having a big size head.

Here is what more scary for you ...

Only way to get it out is to drop the engine !

Here is what more scary for you ...

I had the cut the hole in the frame work and make it larger.

I am not happy with this design.
