Mystery cannister under the spare wheel?

Post by GLE380 » Sat 07 Jan, 2017 10:34 am

Hi all,

Second question post from this newbie to the GLE world.. was exploring the car last night and came across a very nicely made cylinder in the boot area underneath the spare wheel. Can anyone tell me what it is? Pics are worth a thousand words as they say..

Nothing in the manuals that I could find. Nothing in searches that I could find - here or on Google.

Car is a 2016 GLE350d with Airmatic.

Thanks.. again! :sign2:

I have no idea about your model or the part, but one of the tricks i use even on old parts is to just put the part number into google and this is one of the results:

So looks like an air cell specific to airmatic cars.

Thanks guys - I didn't think of Googling the actual part number!

Thought it may have something do with the Airmatic, but I assumed that an accumulator like that would have been under the bonnet or body - not in the cabin.

The wonders never cease!

Thanks again for your replies - much appreciated :occasion5:
