Help Needed

Post by rossie11 » Wed 28 Dec, 2016 10:11 am

Ok so im new and learning about this site. Didnt mean to offend anybody with my last post about my car for sale, it was dome more tongue in check and out of pure frustration with all the problems i have had over the last 4 to 6 weeks. And yet i have another problem.

The crank angle sensor is playing up, fortunately my son has all the gear to reset the ECU. But i am confused as to where the blasted thing is.

I have looked on youtube and i have seen many ways to get to the bugger, on ML320,s and 430,s but not the 500,s. I see some people take of a wheel and other bits to get to it, some dont bother and and just go in through the top of the motor. I just want to know if anybody knows has any pictures of where this thing is and the best way to change it.

My son works in the auto trade but has never done one of these before, he has done just about everything else over the years.

So if anybody can help with this situation it would be great.

I remove the plastic inner guards. It makes it a hell of a lot easier with the them out and the wheels off to see what is going on.

Yes i have seen a video of that method, but it doesnt tell me where the thing is. If the crank sensor is somewhere, where is that somewhere, its not some mystical thing.

I have seen a picture of it on the bell housing, also attached to some other place, i just want to know where it is so i can change the blessed thing.

What is the point of those pictures, thats not a ML500. My mechanic did it in 20 mins with only one tool and none of the crap mentioned in that post.

Man , got you out of the wrong side of the bed, :blackknight2: that is a ML 500 in the workshop manual pictures. taken from the mercedes WIS you asked for assistance and you got it .I suggest you take your bad attitude and piss off to the holden or Ford Forums where shittyness and bogan attitudes are the norm .

It seems that all you people want to do n this site is promote how good you are at talking about stuff that isnt relevant to the question i asked. I though being an Oz site there would be much more of an exchange of ideas and less of the abuse that you seem hell bent on dishing out.

Where was the help when i wanted it, all i got was how my diesel had problems or whats wrong with the X5, this is not help nor is telling me to piss off, what is the moderator doing about abusive language.

I was genuine in needing help, but none was forthcoming, oh yes you may say we did offer help, you offered nothing, only one person had an idea about what was wrong with my car, and i thank that person. I was told that people on this were snobs, and its proving right. If you cant take people talking straight, i feel sorry for you.

I just cant wait to see what the response to this post will, bring on guys.

I think you answered your own questions.

We are all snobs, we all abused you, and we did not provide you the exact help you needed.

So look for it elsewhere, this is obviously not the site for you.

I've been following the posts, and having been on the site for about (only) four years and reading most new posts AND finding most people get help promptly, this isn't an emergency break down service.

I have to say: there is no response necessary, but I will say this. Most people think the French are arrogant, but when you want directions in France all you have to do is say Bon jour, excuse me and thank you.

Get it?

I think you should read your OP from the start. You asked a question and got 2 really good answers from the start. On your other post about the same thing a guy offered to fix it for you the next day. What more other than drive to your house, make you a nice hot cuppa, recline your chair and have one of us change it for you for free do you expect from a forum. You are way out of line and I think you deserve everything that has been said to you. Happy new year and Enjoy your Toyota.

It'd be a very different world if we had to pay for others technical advice and prompt service. To demand something that is offered for free and then to criticise that person shows a distinct lack of moral fortitude, and you wonder why you've been banned from other forums.

Nobody offered to fix it the next day. I was asked to phone MB Spares, who i knew were so busy it would take them a couple of weeks to get to my car.

Tell me why i am out of line, i would love to know why. I didnt start the abuse, people like you did.

Anyway i wont be around the site, and you will glad to hear that, for too long. I thought i would get some help without people going off in different directions about other things. I went on the US and Canada sites and got my answers in minutes and with no abuse or people thinking they are making clever comments.

What other forums have i been banned from, this is all news to me. Please tell which ones.

And yes people are going to come back with comments, you just cant help yourselves.

Worst drive of my life

If you are sure it is just the crankshaft sensor we can fit it in. Call us tomorrow.

Here's where I was abusive too and not any help. If you had kept one thread going instead of 5or 6 you may not of got so confused.

ML 500 turns over, but wont fire.

When you have trouble starting it again check to see if the tacho bounces. If it's turning over and not starting and it's bouncing it won't be the CKP. You might have a fuel delivery problem. It needs to be checked with a fuel pressure gauge and it should read around 50-55psi.
