W164 320D Fuel Gauge reset

Post by wbell » Tue 15 Nov, 2016 8:23 pm

The fuel gauge has suddenly stopped working, displaying empty. Yellow "empty" light is displayed before start up and upon start up and dissappears. It appears it could be the fuel sensor. Before I replace, is there any tests that can be performed first to reset the fuel gauge. I have noted there have been mention of a reset procedure for the W163.
Thanks

Hi all, thanks for everyone that viewed my post. It seems like there is no simple way to reset the fuel gauge.

Appreciate any advise on steps to test which part is faulty. Ie. the sensor and or the gauge itself. Thanks.
