2002 ML Diesel any good?

Post by Hendrik » Wed 06 Jan, 2016 10:31 am

One day I might have to look at upgrading the ole S124, missus is making noises that she wants a fn SUV, so I am having half an eye out for one http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mawson-l ... ved_search these any good? I know the earlier ones are a bit dodgy but what are these engines and transmissions like? Still reasonably serviceable in the back yard or is mechanic only? Also what's the turning circle like in these, one of the great things about the S124 is the turning circle?

Hi Hendrik - search on Mercmad - Rons threads, he got one that needed work and there was a few issues that may be worth looking into..... from memory.

Or give John a call at MB spares. He's worked on numerous of them.
I know there is an issue with the plastic manifolds - John camel lighten you on this.

There seems to be hundreds of them out on the streets so any issues should be well known by now.
