rear S A M unit help

Post by ducko » Wed 23 Sep, 2015 12:57 pm

Gday...My 06 ML has sprung a leak near the right tail light and damaged my S A M unit.....
I have had no trouble finding other S A M units for the W164 from all over the world but none with the same numbers on them as mine!!

will these other units work in my car??

I am aware that it has to go into MB to get recoded or something..

Hi, they generally will work but once permantly fitted to the vehicle it will need to be coded to the vehicle, I have put spare ones in just to test old ones have failed but new ones must always be coded to the vehicle.

Cheers for that...So if I buy a used one it should be plug and play??
I want to get one before the week end and looks like 2nd hand is the only way that's going to happen!
