Looks pretty tidy. Although I wonder what he means by "FACTORY FITTED 'BODY ARMOUR'"?
Perhaps he is talking about the cladding?

I believe he is.

Not sure about the reference to being a baby unimog though.

I wonder if he has ever driven a Mog?

Hello G-Wagoneers!!

I've come across for a visit from the W111's as I'm looking for a fourby. I've always had one from Landy's, Jeeps, Patrols, Landcrusher, you name it. I lost the Jeep in the deeeeevorce and the finny, despite being a brand new car will be saved for regular special occasions (particularly now it has a high perf. 500SEL motor under the bonnet!!!) So..................... I've never owned a G-Wagon or for that matter ever driven one. My research leads me to conclude nothing less than they are a brilliant, all round four wheel drive and comfortable vehicle to get around in generally but they are stinkingly overpriced when comparing 4wd of a similar age? I intend on keeping my purchase for a very long time so I'm not particularly phased by the expense over time considering I'm looking at some of the Jap import 230GE's coming in around the $15,000 mark. Yes, much, much more expensive than a high spec, VGC example from any of the other stables but am I kidding myself? I do like to engage low range on perhaps 4 or five occasions per year, tow a little camper trailer and head to Fraser and Moreton Islands occasionally. Any suggestions or feedback, particularly on the 230GE Jap stuff would be appreciated. The rarely seen, very tired, very high mileage Aussie originals seem to be priced the same if not more than these examples. I've seen a couple of LWB models too on Japanese auto sites such as 'Goonet.com' for around the $15,000 mark. I've lived in Japan on and off a few times over the years and they are ridiculously fastidious about their vehicles and they don't / can't usually do high mileage and put doily cover thingies over their entire interiors, hence the freshness of them. Also, apart from the well known robustness etc. of the 230 motor, are they struggling to pull the skin off a rice custard? Never had or driven one in sedan, wagon or g-wagon guise but have read, seen threads on this 'little engine that could' in terms of legendary status?

More G's in Japan than you can poke a stick at. Problem is anything newer than Jan 1989 build date isn't allowed into the country but I do have an evil plan which may result in a 90's G from Japan becoming mine if my research pays off!!! I'll keep you posted on my research. Anyone out there offer an opinion on the 230GE's re my previous post?
