No matter how terrible your cluster looks, chances are a bit of cleaning will make a massive improvement.

this is a car I am working on at the moment, I considered this cluster junk and was going to throw it in the trash.
While still not a show stopper and never will be, it shows what can be achieved with a bit of effort.
Note that the residual humidity has now evaporated.

I cleaned the dial faces etc carefully by hand and washed the entire stripped housing in the laundry sink (obviously I let it dry before reassembly)
