favourite electric buffer pads?

Post by CraigB » Wed 03 Jan, 2018 10:42 am

I was just going to grab some velcro foam buffing pads off ebay and got swamped by the different types. I have previously used the 'waffle type' pad on my big buff but I'm not sure i am crazy about it with polish getting up in the high parts. In the old days I just used the lambswool but is much more aggressive and you put cutting compound on the car not the pad - unlike the foam. Then a new polisher i bought has a flat pad and i am not sure that is best either - seems to accumulate polish on some parts and not others - could also be the grade of foam too. There are other patterns of diamond and more shallow divets available. But rather than concentrate on my very un-scientific experiments - what works best for you?

Here are some examples and explanation of my odd descriptions:

Hello Craig, hope all is well.

It may be worth posting this question on detailparadise.com.au (Australia's main detailing forum). You would probably receive more responses there. They should point you in the right direction.
