Clunks and rattles from the front suspension finally were getting on the nerves.
Had a look underneath checked the sway bar links - not so good
to get it off you need a Torx 30
Then checked the sway bar bushings
Removed the sway bar and removed a bushing.
Surely it should be round ?

Wish it was as easy to replace on a 123...my bushes have been 'groaning' for too long and whilst I have new ones, it's a job that has yet to reach the top of the list.....bring on the AFL Grand final public holiday... :boohoo:

Checked out prices for those bushings on the great auction site as well as the U.S.
Australian sourced suppliers offering PRC units .....$50 + postage for two.
Went down to the local stealership. And the price for Mercedes stamped originals is........`........................$24.95 each.
The US supplier provides original MB parts - $10.95 each plus postage.
But them again. Stealership price for W204 top strut mount kit....................$580.00
Price for the same MB stamped ones from US supplier - $105.00 including the postage. The postage being more expensive than the actual parts.
Lemforders cheaper again.
Because those same bushings are glued to the swaybar on a W204, the stealership price is $435.00 plus a weeks wait from Swingapura.
I drove the W210 around without the sway bar installed.
(a) The clunking sound was definitely the sway bar.
(b) Don't notice much difference driving without the sway bar installed. - I suppose if I was driving on the motorway at 140KPH i might notice a difference.
(c) The LCA bushings will need to be done in the near future.

Sway bar bushings and links changed.
If you do this on jackstands rather than on a hoist you need to put a jack under the sway bar to help you on and off with it.
The links are supposed to come off the end of the sway bar with a bit of pulling
In reality you need something like a pickle fork.
To reinstall the bushings and links a bit of lubrication required.
KY is water based and not oil based therefore wont damage the rubber over time.
The links are a bit of a Barstewared to get back onto the sway bar.
The trick is to part put them on, turn the swaybar up and drop the swaybar weight onto the link - they go on. Trying to use a maellet to put the links on doesn't work.
Installed everything took car for a drive. Quiet bliss. Even over bluestone cobbles.
