Command centre not working

Post by Deanodirt » Mon 12 Dec, 2016 9:00 pm

Hi all i have a w211 E55 AMG had it for 3 weeks driving home and the command centre went from the radio and sat nav to the mercedes logo i pulled the fuses for a soft restart with no good, checked online for the optic loop to check for which one has failed. is it worth fixing or getting a quality after market one with all the latest bluetooth and sat nav, prefer to fix the OEM one.

I spoke the people listed above with no joy, i have completed the test with the fibre optic loop and nothing has worked the Mercedes logo comes on and stays on it does not just turn off itself so still not sure what to do i was thinking of taking it in to Mercedes in Rockhampton and get them to log in and see if they can see what has failed. What are peoples thoughts on the aftermarket systems does anyone have one and are there any issues to beware off.

Those chinese decks are rubbish. a friend had one in his 211 and said it would take about a long amount of time to change function modes, turn on etc. personally i have never used but one i wouldn't install one in my car, let alone an e55!
i just did a bluetooth upgrade on my wifes e500 wagen and will post that, it enabled me to keep the COMAND unit.
good luck and keep all updated, info on upgrades is so sparse its hard for us all to figure out what to do!
regards from WA

I took the car to a Mercedes Dealer today and was charged $165 only to be told it that the diagnostic couldn't figure it out, it will now cost around $600 plus to do an analysis to figure the problem, i can buy an online aftermarket latest technology for less very confused on what to do :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
