W210 interior rattle (driving me nuts)

Post by chrishbbq »

Hey guys, another vague interior rattle post here [emoji23]

Got a w210, pretty solid beast. Last week or two a really annoying rattle has developed over bumps / grooves in the road. Only some surfaces. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. I found a bit of a loose trim where the seatbelt anchors into the seat and neatly glued that back, but it's still there! I've checked my glovebox, sunroof, rear headrests, I can't find it!!!

It's not like a high pitch squeak rattle but a low tone rattle. Anyone else had rattle interiors and found a way to fix? Upping the radio doesn't help [emoji23]

I have had a similar rattle in my Territory.

Turned out to be a seatbelt receptors. Try attaching all the seat belts when you drive next time.

Giles you legend. It sorted out the main rattle now I can hear another rattle [emoji23] how did you fix the receptor bit? I think the fact the seatbelt was pulled and clipped to stop moving helped, but how to do that long term (I could just leave the seatbelt clipped in lol)

Further update - found a bottle lid nestled beneath the seat and above the air vent to the rear floor... I'm not even ashamed as who I am as a person [emoji23]

I just leave the seat belt plugged in.

So it's not the seatbelt perhaps as it's still there?? I don't know but it's almost worse [emoji23]
