Curious, R129 rear suspension?
I'd always believed that R129 rear suspension was based on W201/W124 suspension but I have two Revell 1/24 scale models of the 300SL-24 which have the rear suspension depicted being die-cast alloy(going by the trellis pattern) semi-trailing arms.

They do have multi link rear ends, revell got it wrong and used the 560SEC model kit suspension.

Seems to be the recuring theme of E-Class.
