Looking to buy a 500SL

Hi all. Am looking at purchasing a R129 series. I have an eye on a 91 model. Are ther any major problems with this particular model or major differences to the mid to later 90's models. The prices seem to jump when looking at 94 upwards?
Also AC should I avoid the climate control model and stick with the simple version on earlier models ? Any thoughts most welcome. Budget is low 20k.

Well,
having a R107 you discuss R129's as well. To my knowledge, the latter models are a bit more reliable than the earlier ones. However, all the electronic black boxes as well as the hydraulic system for the softtop can cost you an arm and a leg. No comparison at all to a R107. Even the youngest cars are now 12 years old ...
As mentioned, only things I've heard. Why should it be a R129?

Hi Thomas. For some strange reason I sold my 107. Just got it right and let her go??
Now missing the top off and thinking a 129 might fit the bill. You saying I should have just kept the 107?!
