I now have proof that my 300D 123 is fast, fast enough to get clocked speeding `18 ks over the limit (it's a wonder i survived as every k over is a killer apparently. ) And I had just changed into third when the revenue man got me. heady stuff @ nearly 70 kph in 2nd gear. :laughing6: :laughing6:

Yeah but, did you have to go all the way to NSW to get to that speed? :laughing6: :laughing6:

No which is really surprising , i had just put some acetone in the tank to see if it makes a difference and I left an intersection wound it out and while i was thinking" wow this really does work" I changed into second and probably covered less 50 meters when I had to change into third and next thing i see is this mad bugger running out into the road... took a minute to realise it was a cop and not a suicide candidate. Unfortunately for me, he didn't understand that it's a 32 year old diesel ,still on it's original injectors etc and just isn't capable of that sort of acceleration :clock: ....(without a turbo ,maybe not) .

I think you could provide evidence in a courtroom that it was not possible. But acetone in a diesel, why?

it's 2017 you luddites, the cops here are armed with an Ipad, they scan your license and email the penalty to you .I haven't recieved the email yet . Still got a grumpy attitude though, anyone would think I left a bacon sanger outside a mosque or something . Acetone in Fuel? well after 126,000 miles over 32 years the prechambers are probably a bit choked up with carbon deposits, the acetone increases the Cetane of the fuel and also make breaks down the surface tension . This gives a better burn and the fuel is atomised better, You can get the same result by replacing the nozzles and removing the glow plugs to to give the prechambers a clean but i haven't time at the moment .

400-1 ,anymore and it has zero effect because it causes a different chemical reaction , any less and you also get nothing happening. The important thing to use is as near 100% acetone as you can get. Nail bars and chemists have it .I got mine from a paint suppkier . The stuff at Bunnings and others has water in it. Not what you want to be putting in your tank.

Challenge the fine, make them do the test in your car with normal diesel ;)
