Anyone know if these wheels from a 2000 model clk will fit?

You should be able to check the offset of the wheels on each vehicle. The replacement wheel offset should be as close as possible to the original wheel offset (possibly +/-5mm). Other than that, the wheels should fit the hubs. Clearance to discs will not be an issue using 17" wheels instead of 14" wheels.

W208 year 2000 CLK 17 inch wheels generally use offset 37.

Your W123 uses the similar offset as the W126. - for 17 inch wheels the offset should be around 11 -15.

Tye CLK wheels may fit without rubbing anything - brakes, struts or fenders however the alignment over the wheel bearings may be an issue.

Is there a way to check the alignment over the wheel bearing when test fitting? I have had a tough time finding w123 wheels near me so these are a last resort.

The alignment over the wheel bearing is determined by the offset of the wheel.
There are sites out there which have tables and graphics showing how the offset relates to the wheel axle centre.

Too much a deviation from OEM offset means that strain is placed on the wheel bearings and othe suspension componentry.

MB spec for a 7.5inch width rim was ET25
AMG spec for their 7.5inch width rim was ET17

So ET37 is gong to place you inwards by 12mm on MB spec and you will most likely foul on the steering tie-rod knuckle/and-or possibly the upper control arm and most likely the tyre will rub on full lock against the chassis
