The Future

Post by Ivanerrol » Mon 23 Jan, 2017 11:01 pm

I have a nephew who has been addicted to the popular soft drink Chokeka Kola since a young boy.
He's now in his forties.
Just before Christmas he was determined to give this up. He was drinking 2 - 3 litres of it per day.

So far has has lost 2 stone - 12 kilograms or so. - in just a month.

However  This has come at a cost. He now has some serious health issues. Vomiting, acute stomach cramping, diarrhea.
He has even been diagnosed with acute sugar withdrawal symptoms - good grief :banghead:

Last year he had his gall bladder removed because of an acute stone affliction. Possibly sugar related or not enough H20.

Was the Chokeka Kola masking some other serious issues?

This is a man who only drinks a small amount of beer but has a relatively good diet - minimal amount of fast food and factory produced food - cooks his own meals.

What next? Withdrawal symptoms from the Golden Arches?

Holy chet... that's literally 200-300gm of pure sugar per day! :pale:

As a patriotic South Aussie I have a 600ml farmers union Iced Coffee at work nearly every morning (have to do my bit to prevent choke-a-cola from being the top selling beverage), but 2-3 litres is off the chart - no wonder he is having withdrawl symptoms. All I can say is good luck to him and keep up with it, eventually the body will get used to doing without all that sugar.
