Loss of power

Post by 176bob » Wed 29 Apr, 2015 9:18 pm

I was replacing the aftermarket radio in my 1997 C200 W202 sedan with an appropriate Becker. Overnight however, I lost power to the previously powered up radio plug and also the indicators. I have checked the fuses and all appear OK but I am wondering if there is a common relay for these circuits or common connection somewhere. If it is the relay how can I identify which one???? Thanks for any assistance, ideas, etc. Bob.

Yeah good day Tony, It appeared to have been a combination of a couple of wires behind the dashboard were to be pretty loose, wrong fuses in wrong holes and one exposed wire. Did a bit of repair work to them and voila........power. Great sound from this Becker. Now on to the CD changer problem. Thanks for that, regards, Bob.

Basic fault finding techniques: "Look, Think, Check and if all else fails refer to the handbook", work remarkably well.

A second or third opinion usually helps you think thru the issue and helps locate the problem(s).

Yep, That pretty well covers it. Not able to seek any second opinions because there is only the missus and she has less idea than I do. Thanks for your thoughts, Bob.
