Turn indicator stuck on when operating?

Post by datzed » Tue 02 Aug, 2016 10:49 pm

Ok, so car is a 190e 2.0 (89).
The turn indicator stays solid on when I use it. Same with hazard lights (both lights stay solid on). This intermittently happened before. Now its happening more frequently. Anyone know the issue?
A google search brings up an issue with a indicator relay for other models. But I am unsure if (a) this is the same issue and (b) where this relay exists.

Any help appreciated.

I should mention that everything else on the stalk works (washer, wipers and high beam).

EDIT: After a bit more research, it could be the N10 relay in the engine bay. Could this be it? Its unusual as it is only the indicator signals that are impacted.

Changed a N10 relay in a W202 only last week.

Fault was with indicators and hazard lights however in that case both operated only intermittently.

Have yet to pull apart N10 relay to check for solder issues

What is the function of the N10? IS it the flasher relay?

W124's, 201's, 202's up until '96 all share the same relay. - might be in KE Jet W126's as well.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. I turned out to be a sticking hazard light switch. Flick the hazard switch on and off a few times with the indicator on and see if it fixes the problem. I carefully took the switch apart and cleaned it and everything worked fine again.
