Electric Window fails to open

Post by Tony From West Oz » Sat 04 Mar, 2017 7:52 pm

Yesterday afternoon, I jumped into the C250 and drive off. As the day was warm, I opened all the windows to exhaust the hot air. 3 of the windows went down but the drivers window did not move.
Is this window fused separately from the other windows (In the W123 series, Front L and Rear R windows are on one fuse and the others are on the other fuse.)

Otherwise it looks like I have a switch / wiring / motor fault.

Hi Tony,
do you have auto windows feature?
Can you push the button down "halfway" and get the window working.

I tried it at the time, no action regardless of how I operate the switch. Partial operation or Auto (Full depression of switch) makes no difference - the window stays up.
Busy for a few weeks, so I will be a while getting to it.
Step 1. Open console and check V and switch operation.
Step 2a. If no voltage at switch find and repair wiring fault.
Step 2b. If switch faulty replace switch.
Step 2c. Remove door card and check for voltage at motor.
Step 3a If no voltage, find and repair wiring fault.
Step 3b. If voltage present when switch operated, Check motor, replace if necessary.

Did I miss anything?
Any "gotcha's" when R&Ring door card?

The hardest thing about that job is removing the door card without breaking the clip mounts
