Bit of a W123 fest lately, saw a mint burnt orange color sedan last night at coal point with L plates on it, then a nice gold coupe earlier near woodrising and a rough looking yellow sedan near argenton

A big blue and white Mercedes coming to the rescue of another big blue and white Mercedes across the road from my house. This is becoming a somewhat regular occurrence where I live (see viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4254&start=600#p123599 ). My kids say its fine so long as the bus that breaks down is one they are getting off rather than one they hoping to get onto. Today's breakdown was related to the common squealing belt issue (see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8764 ).

Watching the cents turn into dollars while pumping diesel into the work ute when a W201 190D rolls up. Got talking to the old boy about his pride a joy. 860,000km on the clock and still going strong. :notworthy:

Good question, the sticker on the rear window was from West Orange Motors, so at a guess lives up that way.

Some of those 'family' stickers are great. I saw one that said "A dingo took my stick-figure family", and another that said "Making my family" - I leave it to your imagination to visualise what was depicted.

A grey manual W111 220SE coupe this morning at a local footy match near my place. It had MB Club ACT stickers all over the windows, but was newly Victorian registered.....perhaps Mr. Green knows this car ?

Poxy iPhone foto through a dirty windscreen doesn't do the car justice. It looked in fairly good nick visually.

May see it in the for sale section on carsales or somewhere shortly.
The guy driving it was being very careful with it.

I saw a silver SLS AMG in Surry Hills today. Must've been the day for it.

This looks like the kind of property you would see on the news regularly:

Yeah a man of the people in a car worth more than the average house.
I did like his idea that the pollies have to wait to get their perks/golden handshake/pension until they get to retirement age, like the people they represent.
However he damn well knew it was never going to fly and was just a bit of grandstanding.

What is really sad in the Picture, is the fact that owning an old toyota van will only lead you into poverty as you struggle to keep it on the road .
The rear finny looks to be a mobile unit while the front one has donated parts over the years. I sold my Hot Rod shell to a guy recently who makes a damn good living restoring those caravans.

Yesterday Dandenong Rd near Carnegie, a (metallic?) blue 450SE: lots of sponsors names looked more painted on than stuck on, suspension slightly jacked up, towing a small trailer.

Looked in very good condition and no trouble pulling away from traffic.

A rally special?

A smicko metallic moss green W114 coupe broken down as you enter Stuttgart yesterday afternoon. 3km of backed up traffic :banghead: Although it was good to see the ole girl out, the W114 wasnt keen on the rain.

The old saying. He who hesitates is lost. I hesitated taking the camera today and left it behind and while walking in outer Stuttgart and spotted two nice looking Finnies 220s parked up.
Although I never knew they/it existed, a widebody W201 with a SEC front grille, DTM exhaust pipes and deep dish Pentas, with the older style Stuttgart number plates. Certainly looked like a pocket rocket.

Could have been a MAE Tuning, popular in the 80s. Extreme Widebody, but totally integrated, i. e. looks like someone used a pump on the body. No spoilers, looked extreme ...

I have spotted a black 600 a couple of times the last few weeks around Sydney. Cruising up Gore Hill on Sunday arvo heading towards town, just looked fantastic amongst the traffic such an elegant stance. Looks like the one the NSW club member (Ron I think) had and sold a couple of years ago.

I'd be guessing that was Reg's car which he sold to a gentleman by the name of Guyon, who's a lovely guy. Guyon spends a fair bit of time in the Blue Mountains and I once saw the Grosser parked at Woolies in Leura. Odd to see it in that context, but cool.

Yep Reg I knew it started with an R. I remember the car well as it was my first up close experience with a 600 as he would bring it to NSW club events. I was trying to get a mate to buy it as he was interested at the time however he was frightened out of it by the guys at MB due to the cost of a full restoration. Not that there was anything wrong but this friend when he buys old cars sends them off to have the full running gear pretty much everything except paint overhauled and new parts etc put on. He is a car nut and can afford to do it but aw just too tentative on that one. My view is it was a great car well loved and just great to see the new owner getting in and using it. Not sure I would be parking it in woollies though. Especially that one out the back at Luera the spots are not too wide drought with danger :naughty:

Back when I was a NSW MB Club member there were a few 600s owned by club members. Reg owned one however he obviously saw the light and sold it to make way for the 350SLC which he purchased from me.

A pair of black AMG's, well I think the 210 is an AMG :dontknow: outside super crap.
Unusual to see a pair and I don't think they where there to get worked on, the 210 had a MBCSA sticker on it, so Dave might know that car :dontknow: :dontknow:
Also as I was pulling out of SC I saw a white 300D 123 with grandpa and grandma cruising south road.

The picture you posted is 99% identical to the widebody W201 I saw although without the boot spoiler and blue/black in colour. It seems to be a regular in the carpark at the Bärenschlössle as a few friends have also seen it there.

In a Boulder, Colorado car park a few days ago. A nice car in a great colour . Worth driving, but apparently not worth repairing:

Almost a week ago now, on Dandenong Rd outbound towards Wattletree Rd (Melbourne), a W204 update..... Yellow Cab. Was behind me for a few blocks so I didn't see what model it was.

I've only been a front passenger in a W204 and found the seat smaller than ideal and the seat belt buckle too low and obstructed by the centre bin/armrest, so not sure if it's ideal for taxi passenger duties, imho.
