Interior light malfunction

Post by RF62 » Sat 03 Mar, 2018 1:05 am

Hi,

I am going to buy a W204. I have not yet inspected the car, but the seller says its only problem is the interior light which if it is not turned off manually (set to off position), it might come on during the night and you'll end up with a flat battery in the morning! He says it is common problem (however, my current c200 does not have such a problem). He had spent $800 on it but the problem still persists.

So, I wanted to know if this is really a minor problem or it might be a problem with the wiring and electrical circuits? Can it be fixed? I read somewhere that this happens due to a faulty sensor in the windshield.

Thanks.

$800 to not fix an interior light problem seems a tad excessive; wouldn’t it be cheaper to remove the globe & use a torch? :violent1:

Any seller who casually mentions $800 to try and fix a not yet remedied issue is one to steer clear of.
Meanwhile I need to get to a real machine to answer your question in the other thread. The iPhone doesn’t cut it.

Thanks a lot! I was talking to my father and he mentioned the same point!

About the other thread, actually I have another question for you which I think needs its own topic. It's about the difference between C200 and C220CDI.
