I will never understand why anyone would ask this much or that anyone would contemplate spending this much on a HQ Holden. They are a very basic motor car ,we owned one new ( ute ordered with a V8 manual and was delivered with a 6 and trimatic...) and a one tonner with v8 manual ,an HZ sedan and various others so I am familiar with them..

Prices are lunatic.
See this car
Clints-car.jpg
It's been in a garage like this since around 1996. It's an LX 2 door Torana 308. It's complete - just in bits.
You have no idea of the lunatic amounts that have been asked for parts from this car.
Someone offered $8000.00 for the rear hatch door. Another $8000.00 for each of the two rear gaurd shells.
Someone else has offered $60,000 for the car as it is.

Makes you still wish this car was still around - HQ Premier 308 Four on the floor. Bought brand new for $4,800.00 on the road.

Steel bumpers & hubcaps = $10-K add whitewalls + $5-K, 50% premium for Oz made.

If the model ever went around Mt. Panorama add 500%.

Mercmad,
I think that the photo sequence is reversed. It starts at the bottom and shows the car being stripped (top photos) for a full restoration (I hope)

Based on some of the cars we see with shiny wraps it certainly would work for the nephew of some oil sheik to drive around Kensington in, so maybe put it for sale in the UK for $100k and probably have a bidding war...... :laughing6:

How the hell did they get that onto historic plates with those wheels and the wrap? :bs:

As a side note, I actually don't mind the pearl wheel treatment, but the green clashes badly with everything else on the car... :puke:

Anyone else spot that it has headlight wiper/washers? How many W123s do you see here in oz with that option?!
