Some recent posts about big $$ for SL's but that looks more like a parts car!

Not sure it's appropriate for this thread, hard to believe a 65 model only has 32000miles on odometer ... 3798/?Cr=0

There are often claims like that and you look at the shape of the front seat, for example, and you instantly know it can't be true. But this actually looks pretty good. Good quality but at 132,000 miles I'm not sure if it would look that good. Boot has that unused look to, although a few bumps along the edge, but that is pretty easy to happen over a few years of use. The low mileage cars i have had usually have a story like they have been used like a normal new car and then somebody dies, goes away etc and then it is locked in a garage. So does the wear on that look like you would expect after a few years of use.... I reckon it could be. The only bit that bothered me is that when you look at the closeups of the ID plates etc, it looks to me like they could have been masked and the car resprayed around it. That's not so bad but it means it is not original paint and you have to wonder how well it was done.

Still, SA car and 2017 concourse winner and its a finnie..... David Knight must know all the answers!

And price..... If its as appears you could spend that money on most other finnies and not make them look that good - just depends if you want one that looks that good.

Agree with Craig's last comment.

Here are some overseas cars and prices, so that price for an original would be reasonable. ... ime-stars/

Some tempters there, eh?
1975 350SLC Astral Silver (725) / Blue (2012, 284,900 km - present.... a real Benz, getting better and better)
1988 190E Deep Blue (900) / Cream (2006, 190,000 km - 2007, ~ 215,000 km .... FSH and still spent big $$$)
1974 280E Reed Green (860) / Bone (1993, 316,700 km - 2004, ~490,000 km and still A1)
