Can anyone help me in Brisbane? W121

Post by GrampiansMerc » Wed 19 Jun, 2013 3:29 pm

I would like someone to give me some advice on this car:
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/walloon/ ... 1019598191#

It is in Walloon, Brisbane.

Has anyone looked at it or could look at it for me....?
I want to buy one of these - missed one in Adelaide recently :boohoo:

But just want someone to give me an honest opinion of this one - as it has a few issues.
I want a good original car, but not a rust bucket or something that will cost me 10K to make a driver!!

Thanks

Hi there Adam,
I am in Brisbane but would not have the time to go look a the car building house on weekends.
Walloon is about 1 hours drive outside Brisbane so you would need someone that's going for a drive in the country to have a look.
Sorry

I might be able to do this but will depend on adult daughter who may be here for the weekend. Will let you know in a couple of days. She'll come with me if so.

It's not a $5000 car. it's also a 190 D . Great fun if you like to drive at 80k's flat out. There is a lot of things to check on a roundie, rust, wear etc etc and being a diesel, when was the last trime it ran? .if it does run...how easy is it to start? a hard starter can mean either rings or injection ,or tappets out of adjustment. if it doesn't run or drive,it's a $500 car.

Thanks mercmad & ansteadeh
I agree I think the seller is very optimistic!
That is why I wanted someone to look at it for me (and let me know what you think), so I could make an informed offer on it, over the phone. If the seller is not negotiable then I will not come up to Brisbane. If it stays on the market for 6+ months and he might become a negotiable seller!!!

Thanks again
