How many forum members do you need to change a bulb?

Post by T-Modell » Thu 11 Dec, 2014 7:17 pm

Found this in a forum here, thought I share this with you ... :laughing6:

1 who changes the bulb and posts the result in the forum
14 who made similar experiences and suggest how to change the bulb differently
7 who point out the risks of changing a bulb
3 who ask why the thread opener needs a bulb at all
5 who blame the government that the bulb burned out
3 who think the opposition wouldn't have done it better
1 crazy member who claims to have known the inventor of the light bulb
8 who point out the spelling and grammar mistakes in the posts before
12 who attack the grammar fanatics and insult them as arrogant smart asses
25 who correct the spelling mistakes in the insulting 12 posts before
6 who discuss if it's called light bulb or source of light
6 who insult the previous 6 as anal-fixated
3 long-term forum members who know, that the bulb discussion happened already two years ago and who quote people who nobody knows any more and accuse the thread starter to have stolen the topic to get similar fame as the guy from two years ago
32 who stricly point out, that the bulb discussion shouldn't be posted in this forum, but should have been posted in a special forum
36 who argue about the best bulb changing method, the best sources for bulbs, which bulb brand suits best and which bulbs don't work at all
12 who are pretty happy with the supposedly not working bulbs and who accuse the posters before, they were dealers or manufacturers who just want to advertise
5 who accuse the fans of the unsuitable bulbs, they'd sit in the dark all day and therefore have no idea of bulbs
3 who point out, that they're lighting technicians and know exactly what they're talking about
23 who - like always - point towards the search function
6 who complain about the bad customer service in hardware stores
2 who claim, their hardware store personnel were nice and it's not better in America
11 who point out, that there exist specialist shops and you only get what you pay for
13 who point out, that this is now really OT and one should open a new thread
3 who ignore that
19 who post diffent internet links, where you can have a look at different bulbs
7 who point out, that the URLs are partly incorrect and post the correct URLs
3 who post exactly the same, but add the sentence "oops you were faster"
2 who start ranting and raving, because they misinterpret the last posting as an attack
22 who quote the longest posts completely with the additional comment "I fully agree!"
7 whose postings only contain obscene smileys
9 who log on as trolls to attack the posts of their favourite forum enemies
4 friends of the attacked members who call the trolls a coward pack who don't have the guts to reveal their identity and who start to guess who might have written that
7 who noticed the thread only because of the sheer numbers of postings, who have read only the last two postings and who give it a real start now to participate in the discussion
9 who explain to the 7 previous that it either has been said already or it has been refuted in detail
1 who posts a super-wide picture of a bulb, so that everyone has to scroll horizontally to read the text
3 who ask how to post pictures
5 who refer to the FAQ and ask to stay within the topic
2 Newbies, who ask to delete their account, because it's a stupid forum
8 who want to change the minds of the frustrated Newbies
2 who now consider the behaviour here on the level of a kindergarten and that nobody knows really what's it all about
7 who decide to exit the discussion, because "the standard is now too low"
3 who comment maliciously that the standard of those 7 is always too low when they run out of arguments
and 1 User, who diggs out the thread after 6 months, so that everything can start from scratch.....

Yes, Thomas's English is a little patchy at times. I also have it on good authority that he only knows two words of Spanish.
Perhaps we could change the forum's official language to German - this would seem much more in keeping with the content.

Dear Mr. Lance,

I deeply and sincerely apologise for my unforgivable mistake. I would be more than happy to further learn the English language with your highly appreciated help. If I may be so bold to draw your attention to the fact that I'm not a native speaker. However I dare to write in this forum. I'm pretty sure, an automatic message about my grammar mistake has been sent to the forum sponsor who will make his decision to expel me from this forum with utmost expediency.

Yours full of faith :laughing6:
Thomas

P. S.: I think that you will find that it is correct to say, that you still have to learn to use the quote syntax Image

Please add the 13 who wouldn't recommend that bulb as it wasn't factory standard and available at time of production in 1969.

If you link to an offsite image yes there is a size limit.
If you upload the attachment then a thumbnail is created. when you click on it, the fullsize image is shown.

I was stating why it truncates the image, rather than having a "img lightbulb /img" so big you have to scroll for 3 weeks to find the other edge of the image.

You forgot to add:

6 forum administrators who email each other back and forth to discuss whether or not the topic should be locked and whether or not to ban the users that have 'crossed the line'
1 who posts an image or meme as a funny reply

and

1 who spends so much time on the forum, he is able to recall an identical discussion taking place 3 years ago and can post a link to the old thread for reference
