Sway Bar Shackle

Hi all, just a query

Is the Sway Bar Shackle known by another name. I've been told my 116 450SE needs them. is there a difference whether they are for an SE or SEL?
I've been told they only come as Genuine,,,,,,,,If I look at the US, does it matter if they are LHD cars?
Are they the same as Sway Bar Links?

Not on here, but checking with some MB enthusiasts.......They are only known as Sway Bar Shackles and you can only get them genuine.
I was quoted by one supplier in Australia, 450 each, and another 370.00each.
I have since gone to the US and got them for 170.00US each plus $65.00 International fast post or $85.00 International Express.
The US advised me that they had to come from Germany...so a 10 day delay. I had placed order on 11th and on the 20th, they sent an email that the items had arrived from Germany, so now sent to me in Sydney South Coast...I should get them on Monday 24th.

They do not have 450SE in the US , only 450SEL....but they will fit either and also the 6.9.
All up $430.00 USD= AUD$540.00
I'd hate to find out they were cheaper here.....but if so, hopefully it would help someone else.

Looking at pics online of the part no: you posted....just a basic rubber bush sandwiched between to metal plates
This is one very expensive part....Anyone else that needs these id be inclined to Try and rebuild the old parts ?

Looks fairly simple to me to seperate the 2 metal plates [drill thru the stampings on one plate ? ] and have a bush machined from urethane round stock and drill the centre hole to suit
Rejoin the 2 metal plates with a weld or some high tensile bolts...just a thought .
Out of curiosity whats approx dia of the rubber bush ?

Could anyone give me a few approx lenghth and diameter measurements of the rubber bush in between the plates on this part ?

Reason being i think i could offer a rebush service for these parts : You post to me ....I Rebush the Pair with Urethane and Aust wide post inc for under $200
Does this price sound reasonable ?
Which Duro rating do you think fellas would be most suitable for the replacement Urethane bush 85 or 93 Duro ?
