Which Vacuum lines to remove?

Hello!

I have removed all that anti pollution gear from my 1977 280se.
I now have vacuum hoses that have no where to go.

Some of these go into a round black device which is attached to the passenger guard.

Can any expert here tell what needs to be retained, blocked up etc.

I also understand I will have to do something with advancing the timing or something??

Any help would be great please,
