New Owner 450SLC - Perth

Hi All,

Collected my 1979 450SLC yesterday after buying a car from family friends. The car hadn’t done much for 10 or so years and had a lot of dust and cobwebs on it but spent most of that time with a mechanic and seems to be in good order with 75000 on the clock. Last 6 months or so it’s been stored with another friend and needed a good clean and polish. Not my first choice of colour but it’s growing on me. Has the high idle problem that seems common and needs a new alternator which is being sorted now. I have reason to believe the high idle might stem from the over voltage protection relay which doesn’t seem too hard to replace so fingers crossed. I’ll need to plug away at getting the interior right too as it’s a bit shabby and will have to get the data card from somewhere. Been looking at the world upholstery site. Are there any other 107 owners out there in Perth who could suggest good paint and body shops and mechanics who know this vehicle well? Thanks for your time. I’ll try to post a picture of the cleaned up car below.

That colour is perfect for that car - very period.
