IMO the grilles look much better in black on the 126, shame they did not come that way originally.

The headlights? Well, whatever floats your boat...

Grille looks well nice though.

Whoops! Sorry, I forgot I was in the 126 section!
I have no shots of my 126 so, maybe there is nowhere else for the 600 shots to go anyway?

Pls feel free to move them where they should be...!

My 1988 300SEL, Diamond Blue (Paint code 355) 200XXXkms. One owner until 4 weeks ago. Have added 18 inch Brabus (copy) rims. 235R18/40series tyres, still have immaculate 15 inch alloy rims. It has original Becker Radio/cassette in good order, actually sounds pretty good so will not extract. The leather seats have been retrimmed and the woodwork has also been refurbished. Will post new pictures with custom plates attached soon.

I purchased mine, with tyres, from Txxxx Txxxx in Sydney, also try the Forum sponsor. I am in the South West of WA and not many outlets for Mercedes wheels around here.

When you purchased your Eibach springs, did you have to buy four or two? I've been told they only come in a four piece kit.

My SLS is fine at the moment but I know its not going to last forever and just want to drop the front by 45mm odd and then adjust the SLS accordingly.

Maybe I will sell those rims...I want to put back the original alloys from the car...I have now one-the spare wheel!I just need to buy the rest...

About the car-I will rebuilt it from the metal...and in a few mounths I will repaint it.The interior will be from my other car (the 500SE) and maybe I`ll put the engine and transmision from tha too... :D and then it will have 5 liters!
They are few rust spots on the car, the usually places-wheel arches...Unfortunately the previous owner was verry negligent with the car ...so I have many things to do!

You might not enjoy our summer, Dan. Most days for the past month the temperature has been in the mid-30s, and almost every afternoon there has been a storm - quite often with hail (yesterday's hail stones were relatively small at 5 cm diameter). Rather than cooling the air, the storms usually just result in even higher humidity.

I hate summer - the humidity is unbearable. My favourite season here (approx. 120 km south of where Ross/420SE lives, and about 45 km south-west (15 km inland from the coast) of Byron Bay where Ross visited yesterday. I also hate the beach - it's full of sand, the salt air rusts cars, and I don't / can't swim.

I shall look forward to your winter photos. :D

If you are interested my car is for sale. kms unknown...really i don`t know and I don`t care. 180k km on odo. I think around 300k kms. Engine is in very good condition. I have compared with some friends 420`s and my car is more economical and powerful.
Seats, steeringwheel etc looks nice.

I`ll send more pictures and detailed info.

OK. I finally came across the right car, in the right place, at the right price.
Took 3 months of looking.

3 owner with 240klm and full service history via mercedes dealerships.
Australian delivered. Manufactured Dec 1988, first registered Jan 1990 ?
Came with original warranty paperwork and lots of history.

Not perfect. But in great condition for it's age. No rust, great paint, minor blemishes, will probably polish out.
4 x new tyres and everything works perfectly.

Standard factory Mud Flaps.

Needed in Queensland (Australia) due to the volume of cane toads on the roads up here.
Highly toxic little critters.
Mud flaps stop them being thrown up onto other cars (poison will eat the paint off a car in minutes, simuilar to flying fox "bat" faeces) or people.

Personally I think I like them........... :D

Thanks dan500se. Your 500se looks very nice also, black was my second choice.

I was only kidding about the toads (we have them but that not what the mud flaps are for).
Just the last part was true, I think I like them.
They do keep the car a little cleaner, due to less rubbish being thrown up by the wheels when driving.

So today I spent ages cleaning up the Bundts, and it turns out they aren't stuffed! (See first pictures, a few pages back- they're brown and black)

So the plan is to develop a new intake plenum for it (Also to be used on M117s), use a Haltech to control fuel and ignition and design some extractors and exhaust system.

Whether I find an SEC shell and transfer all the running gear over, or simply buy an SEC and put the new plenum and exhaust on it is yet to be seen...

For the minute I just drive it around and enjoy it! I'd love some AMG hammers or pentas though.

'84 Toyota MA61 Supra - 3 litre turbo - ~300kW, ~590Nm - Too much torque for the driveline :'(

Nice car ! I just buyed one , the same colour like yours, a 280SE that will be transformed to 500SE.Saddly the car came without the engine and rear suspension and differential, but that is not a big problem!I will take everything from my crushed 500SE and plant it in the 280SE`s body! Otherwise the car is complete and had a very good body, without any major issues! The parts left from the 280 I will use in case of need for my other 280. :D
I just can`t wait to drive again my 500SE! 8)

Till then I just turn with my black 280SE the 260.000 km mark:

Image

Image

In the same time I made some upgrade to the car with second series front and rear bumpers and a complete check of the engine,... oil , filters , brake pads, brake fluid and sparks change !

Dan500se, I like the look of those mag wheels. Gives it a rough gutsy look, very muscle car look.
Don;t thnk it would work on a SEL but on the SE it looks good.

It just looks like it needs a V8 under the bonnet.

You can imagine that those AMG Penta alloys will be put on the 500SE when that car is rebuilt!
I will put a new, lower suspension and I will change the exhaust too...The 500`s engine is very good, I will keep it original...No tuning needed! :D
