New member - wishful C126 owner

Post by orgigeorgie » Fri 06 Oct, 2017 10:56 am

Hi guys,

Name is George, but most forums I am a member of call me OG. I have been lurking on here for a while doing my research. I am looking to become a C126 owner in the near future :)

I come from a world of Alfa Romeos. Currently have a 1969 105 GTV and 1986 GTV6 which I am restoring, blueprinting the engine etc. Ensue rusty/unreliable comments :P

I am really interested in the C126's, predominantly the later ones, either 420, 500 or 560. In no rush to buy and happy to wait :)

Like many I was inspired by the wheeler dealer episode :) Will most likely follow the AMGesque trend. No points for creativity.

The issue is I have never even been in one, let alone driven one. The other contender is a 300CE which I was toying with the idea of engine swaps etc - but again - never even been in one.

It'd be awesome to meet some of the Melbourne members, i'll shout you a coffee if you're happy for me to passenger in your car for a few blocks and hear tales of your ownership experience.

Look forward to meeting you all at some stage.

Hi George,

Kim reached out to me via email, I am happy to give you a ride sometime, however mine isn't standard so it may not be an accurate representation of how a normal SEC would drive.

Although when you find yourself a nice Coupe you wont look back!

Welcome George.

I'm Melbourne based and noticed a Thistle Green/Tan 560SEC has been listed for sale at the next Shannons Auction. Go and have a look at the pictures online.

Good luck with the search.

That'd be awesome! Im not after a stock one. I did the whole 'factory OEM spec' thing and to be honest it was more fun and easier to modify a car.

I have seen that one, but i'd prefer a darker colour - or silver. I think merc's just looks great in silver.

Is it this weekend? Damn!

I am overseas looking for dive spots!. If the Melbourne crew ever go for a cruise, maybe I could tag along as long as you don't mind a bit of Italian blood mixing.
